Register Now for the Seventh Annual Clinician Educator Showcase

Registration is now open for the Seventh Annual Clinician Educator Showcase, slated for October 11th. This special half-day event, hosted by the Department of Psychiatry and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) and Community Care Behavioral Health, celebrates the many accomplishments of our talented clinician educators and staff and features an interactive plenary session and breakout sessions on a wide variety of career development and clinical topics. The popular Speed Dat(a)ing session features presentations highlighting a selection of innovative projects led by our psychiatry residents. The Showcase also provides plenty of opportunities to network and reconnect with colleagues.

We are honored to have Kenneth Nash, MD, MMM, Professor of Psychiatry and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs, Department of Psychiatry, present the plenary address, “A Unique Blend: The Journey of a Clinician Educator.”

Experts from the Department of Psychiatry and WPIC will lead breakout sessions on the following topics:

  • The Innovator’s Prescription: Diagnosing Different Business Models in Mental Health Service Delivery

  • Optimizing Potentially Low-Value Admissions

  • From Concept to Conference: Developing an Education Product

  • Understanding the Role of the Nurse Practitioner in a Multidisciplinary Team

  • Understanding Advocacy and Policy for Behavioral Health

  • Difficult (Crucial) Conversations in the Workplace

Faculty, clinicians, staff, residents, medical students, and psychology interns in the Department of Psychiatry and our colleagues in the WPIC community are invited to attend. Lunch will be provided for all registrants and light refreshments will be served during the afternoon break. Registration will take place now through October 2.
