Clinical Research Training for Psychologists

The Clinical Research Training Program for Psychologists provides clinical psychologists with advanced training in the conceptual and pragmatic skills required to conduct clinical research in a multidisciplinary setting. Trainees participate in an intensive research fellowship under the mentorship of an established clinical investigator. This fellowship typically includes multiple elements: 1) the design and implementation of independent projects under the supervision of the mentor, 2) the analysis and reporting of results from archival data, 3) the opportunity to learn new quantitative skills, 4) and advanced clinical and didactic training relevant to the fellow’s research interests. In addition, all fellows have the opportunity to participate in the Career and Research Development Seminar (CARDS) series.

This program values diversity and is committed to increasing the number of clinical investigators who are underrepresented in the practice of science/medicine, as improving representation in psychological science is crucial to stimulating innovations in clinical research. Consistent with this, we promote the participation of underrepresented populations in clinical medicine, biomedical research, teaching, and service.

Who should apply?

Clinical psychologists who are completing or will have completed a predoctoral internship in clinical psychology.


How many spots are available?

Five postdoctoral positions are available each year.
