We're kicking off the new year on January 6, 2023 with our Researchers on the Rise lecture series featuring the work of two of our talented early-career investigators: Drs. Karen Jakubowski and Elizabeth McGuier.

The REACH Health Equity Seminar kicks off the new year with a presentation on “Harnessing Collective Wisdom: Building Strong Community-Research Collaborations”  by Darren Whitfield, PhD, MSW.

We will be featuring the work of Fabio Ferrarelli, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, at our first Meet the PI lecture of the new year.

The Department is pleased to welcome David Oslin, MD as our Special Guest Lecturer on January 27, 2023. Dr. Oslin is Professor of Psychiatry and serves as the Vice Chair of Veterans Health and Executive Director of the Stephen A Cohen Military Family Clinic at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He also directs the VISN 4 Mental Illness, Research, Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC) and serves as Chief of Behavioral Health at the Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA

On February 2, 2024 the Department welcomes Jordan Smoller, MD as our Distinguished Scientist Lecture as part of our Friday lecture series.

Be sure to join us for Clinical Grand Rounds on February 10, 2023 presented by Jamie Tew, MD and his colleagues, Beth Fulena, MSW, LSW and Tara Krelic, LSW.

This grand rounds will provide a basic orientation to specialized Autism and Intellectual Disability (ID) community services. The speakers will also review common challenges and pitfalls faced by general behavioral health providers when caring for this complex population, and strategies for addressing them.
