The Department of Psychiatry has made the difficult decision to cancel Research Day on June 4, 2020 in light of the evolving response to the COVID-19 virus.

Although we will not be gathering to celebrate the outstanding research of our Pitt Psychiatry investigators in June, stay tuned! We are working on a special event for Fall 2020 to learn more about the ongoing research in our Department and to network and reconnect with colleagues. Details will be forthcoming on our website as planning progresses.

On July 10, 2020 the University of Pittsburgh Senior Vice Chancellor Seminar Series will feature the work of our own Matthew MacDonald, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry.

We are kicking off our Fall 2020 lecture series with a Meet the PI lecture featuring the work of Alison Hipwell, ClinPsyD, Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Join us on September 18, 2020 when the Department of Psychiatry welcomes Karen Quigley, PhD as our Special Guest Lecturer. Dr. Quigley is Professor of Psychology at Northeastern University. Her work focuses on individual differences in emotional reactivity, how humans utilize information from the body in creating emotional experience, and how emotional experiences impact behavior, cognitions, and health.
