Thirty-eight percent of high school students report having used marijuana in their life according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and there is evidence that marijuana use can have permanent effects on the developing brain when use begins in adolescence, especially with regular or heavy use. Dr. Duncan Clark, a nationally recognized expert on adolescent substance use disorders, will address cannabis use in adolescents at this Clinical Grand Rounds.

Our Clinical Grand Rounds series continues with a presentation by Abigail Schlesinger, MD, a national expert on providing behavioral health services in primary care settings. 

The EpiBrain Journal Club invites you to join them on Monday, February 25th from 12:00-1:00pm for monthly meeting. Please note the group will be meeting in a different location this month. The meeting will take place in Room A622 in the Pitt Graduate School of Public Health.

Journal club meetings are open to anyone with an interest in this topic, regardless of discipline or expertise, and we hope to stimulate multidisciplinary discussion and collaboration.

The Department is pleased to welcome Dr. Daniel Pine, Chief of the Section on Development and Affective Neuroscience for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Intramural Research Program for a special lecture on Wednesday, March 13th from noon to 1:30pm.
