About Us

The Psychology Internship Program is led by Co-Directors, Tina Goldstein, PhD and Michele Levine, PhD. Beginning in September 2024, the leadership of the internship program will expand.  Rebecca Price, PhD, and Leslie Horton, PhD, will join Drs. Levine and Goldstein as co-directors during a one-year period of transition. Following this period, Drs. Price and Horton will assume full co-leadership. Administrative support is provided by Elizabeth Fyne.

Clinical Psychology Internship Co-Directors Drs. Tina Goldstein & Michele Levine

Dr. Goldstein is a licensed psychologist and The Pittsburgh Foundation Endowed Professor of Psychiatry Research at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She also serves as the Director of the NIMH-funded postdoctoral training program in child mental health, Director of Psychotherapy Training in Pediatric Mood Disorders, and Associate Director of the Services for Teens at Risk (STAR) Center and Child and Adolescent Bipolar Spectrum Services (CABS). Dr. Goldstein’s clinical and research interests focus on understanding the etiology and treatment for youth with, and at-risk for, mood disorders and suicide, with a particular focus on pediatric bipolar disorder. 

Dr. Levine is a licensed psychologist and Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focuses on the health and mental health of individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period. For example, ongoing research is designed to increase our understanding of perinatal mood and eating problems,  and to develop and evaluate interventions to promote wellness and decrease cardiovascular disease risk in an effort to address health disparities across the preconception, prenatal and postpartum periods. Together with Dr. Goldstein, she directs the NIMH-funded postdoctoral training program for clinical psychologists and is involved in the training and clinical supervision of graduate students and other postdoctoral trainees.
