Darcy Moschenross, MD, PhD Selected for 2014 GMHF Scholars Program
Congratulations to Darcy Moschenross, MD, PhD, a PGY III Psychiatry Resident, on her selection by the Geriatric Mental Health Foundation for its 2014 Honors Scholarship program. Dr. Moschenross is one of only 27 residents chosen nationwide for these prestigious scholarships. Each of the Honors Scholarships was provided through the generous donation of an American Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP) member and will be named by that donor.
As an Honors Scholar, Dr. Moschenross will actively participate in the AAGP's 2014 Annual Meeting, where she will take part in a meeting of one of AAGP's committees or caucuses as well as the Scholars Program and Mentoring Lunch. In the year following the annual meeting, Dr. Moschenross will partner with a senior mentor to conduct an academic project related to geriatric psychiatry.
Dr. Moschenross is a graduate of the University of Connecticut MD/PhD combined degree program where her interests focused on molcular biology and biochemistry. As a graduate student, she conducted research into the characterization of a liver specific microRNA. Dr. Moschenross continues to expand and pursue research interests as a resident at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC.
