John Rozel, MD, Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award by Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society

Congratulations to John Rozel, MD (Professor of Psychiatry and Law), who has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society,  Pittsburgh Chapter. The Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual with longstanding service to and leadership with the Pittsburgh Psychiatric Society, Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society and/or the American Psychiatric Association, as well as service to the community and notable accomplishments in the field.

Dr. Rozel’s clinical focus is treating and managing individuals requiring emergency mental health services in the community. He serves as medical director of resolve Crisis Services, which provides immediate access to mental health care in Allegheny County, offering individuals in crisis a critical alternative to hospital emergency room care. In addition, Dr. Rozel is a nationally recognized expert on firearm injury prevention, crisis management, and workplace violence. He frequently consults on complex cases and high-profile incidents regionally and nationally, and has received national awards recognizing his clinical acumen in these highly sensitive areas.
