The Department of Psychiatry Welcomes New Clinician-Educator Faculty Member Daniel Hedayati, MD

Pitt Psychiatry extends a warm welcome Daniel Hedayati, MD, who joins the Department at the rank of assistant professor.

Dr. Hedayati received his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and completed his residency training in psychiatry/family medicine, and served as chief resident of family medicine and psychiatry. He then undertook a clinical fellowship in geriatric medicine at UPMC St. Margaret, as well as the St. Margaret Faculty Development Fellowship Program, and received the Marian-Bayle Buchanan Geriatric Excellence Award.

Dr. Hedayati’s clinical interests include cognitive impairment, delirium, loneliness and social isolation, integrated behavioral health and behavioral health education of non-behavioral health clinicians, psychodynamic therapy, and frailty. At UPMC St. Margaret, he provides clinical service in consultation-liaison psychiatry. Dr. Hedayati additionally cares for patients on the geriatric teaching service with the family medicine residency program, and at the Canterbury Place skilled nursing facility.
