Two Psychiatry Postdoctoral Researchers Receive Best Poster Awards from the University of Pittsburgh Postdoctoral Association
Congratulations to Department of Psychiatry postdoctoral fellows Laurie Compere, PhD, and Irene Tung, PhD, who have received Best Poster awards from the University of Pittsburgh Postdoctoral Association.
Dr. Compere was honored for her poster entitled “Sex Differences During Real-Time fMRI Amygdala Neurofeedback for Major Depressive Orders.” Her mentor is Kymberly Young, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry.
Dr. Tung received the award in recognition of her poster entitled “Differential Associations Between Adolescent Childbirth, Miscarriage, and Abortion on Changes in Alcohol and Other Substance Use.” Her mentor is Alison Hipwell, PhD, ClinPsyD, Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology.
Dr. Compere and Dr. Tung presented their research at the 2019 Postdoctoral Data & Dine Symposium, and each will receive a travel award to attend a scientific meeting or professional development conference during the upcoming year. Psychiatry was the only department to receive multiple awards during this annual event.
