We look forward to seeing at the Clinical Grand Rounds on October 29, 2021 when we welcome Rebecca Price, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology and Sharvari Shivanekar, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, as our featured speakers. 

Drs. Price and Shivanekar will explore the use of ketamine as a novel therapeutic intervention for anxiety, depression and other psychiatric disorders. 

Our lectures will take place via Zoom due to current COVID19 safety guidelines. 

The University of Pittsburgh Office of Health Sciences Diversity, Equity and Inclusion invites you to a special lecture titled The Intersection of Racism, Religion and Mental Health in Clinical Care by John Welch, MDiv, PhD as part of its Healthcare and Religion Lecture Series on November 2, 2021 from 8:00am-9:00am. Dr. Welch is a theologian, medical ethicist, and community engagement consultant. 
 

Pitt Psychiatry is pleased to welcome Tracy Bale, PhD as our speaker for the Distinguished Scientist Lecture on November 5, 2021. Dr. Bale is Professor of Pharmacology and serves as the Director of Center for Epigenetic Research in Child Health & Brain Development at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. 

Xinjun Wang is a 5th year PhD student in Biostatistics at the University of Pittsburgh who focuses on developing novel statistical methods for single-cell multi-omics data. He has extensive experience in collaborating with physicians and clinical researchers to seek novel biological discoveries through the analysis of single-cell data (e.g., scRNA-seq, CITE-seq, DOGMA-seq, spatial transcritomics).

On November 19, 2021 our Meet the PI lecture series continues with featured speaker Sarah Pedersen, PhD. Dr. Pedersen is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and  Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Co-Director of the Youth & Family Research Program.
