This conference will offer new skills and strategies for addressing the impact of social divisions on attendees’ work in clinical and community settings.  Keynoters will emphasize the role of historically-driven economic factors on the growing rates of behavioral disorders and the value of innovative approaches to integrating global and local resources in supporting sustainable growth and transformation of vulnerable communities.

Be sure to mark you calendars for Monday, August 12, 2019 and join us for a special conference focusing on "Becoming a Trans Knowledgeable Provider.” The conference will take place in the Connolly Ballroom of Alumni Hall on the University of Pittsburgh Oakland Campus. This full-day conference is being organized by the UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital’s LGBT Committee. The conference is intended for all behavioral health providers. Continuing education credits will be provided.

We are pleased to welcome Sergiu Pasca, MD from Stanford University on September 13, 2019 for a Special Guest Lecture. Dr. Pasca is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Stanford Center for Sleep Sciences and Medicine and directs the Stanford Neurosciences Institute Stem Cells Core & Human Brain Organogenesis Program.

Our Meet the PI series features the work of our talented faculty who are conducting innovative research in a wide array of scientific and clinical areas. On September 20th we welcome James Becker, PhD, ABPP/ABCN as our featured speaker in this series.
