to the Rank of Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry
Congratulations to William Klunk, MD, PhD on his promotion to the rank of Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Conferral of distinguished professorship status constitutes the highest honor that the University of Pittsburgh can accord a member of the faculty. Dr. Klunk is an internationally recognized expert on the development and application of PET amyloid imaging agents for the diagnosis of Alzheimer?s disease and for the assessment of the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions. In addition to his extensive research activities, he has established a reputation as a superb educator and mentor to students, trainees and junior faculty. Dr. Klunk is a highly respected and accomplished member of our faculty, and we look forward to his ongoing contributions to the Department and the scientific field.
