Staff Appreciation: Denise Sorisio Brecht, James Emanuel, Happy Fletcher & Lindy Kilby in the LATTICE Research Group
Lab staff members are integral to the Department of Psychiatry’s research mission. In recognition of their many, varied, and valuable contributions to this effort, and in particular to research on late-life mood disorders led by Ariel Gildengers, MD (Associate Professor of Psychiatry), we would like to express gratitude for the following individuals who contribute to the efforts of the LATTICE Research Group:*
Denise Sorisio Brecht
Joined the LATTICE Research Group: 2017
Role: Denise is the longtime manager of the geriatric psychopharmacology lab. She oversees and is directly involved in the pre-processing, storage, and analysis of blood-based biomarkers for LATTICE. “The existence of the geriatric psychopharmacology lab is dependent on Denise,” said Dr. Gildengers. “She provides a critical function to research studies that is indispensable.”
James Emanuel
Joined the LATTICE Research Group: 2017
Role: James is the coordinator for the LATTICE study. He was highly involved in developing the grant application and helping design the study. James also had a key role in developing the study procedures, recruitment and retention strategies, and managing enrolled participants. “James has been instrumental to the success of this study and is a true asset to the Department,” said Dr. Gildengers.
Happy Fletcher
Joined the LATTICE Research Group: 2017
Role: Happy is the LATTICE database manager. She has worked with the data and safety monitoring board and been involved with National Institutes of Health data sharing. “Happy has done exemplary work with data management for the LATTICE study,” said Dr. Gildengers. “She created a first-rate database, consistently keeps up to date with all data entry, and I am grateful she’s part of the team.”
Lindy Kilby
Joined the LATTICE Research Group: 2020
Role: Lindy is the coordinator of the LATTICE sub-study focused on tau imaging and has been involved in the LATTICE parent study with all aspects of recruitment and managing enrolled participants. “Lindy has done an outstanding job coordinating the LATTICE-Tau project. She is independent, enthusiastic, and highly motivated,” said Dr. Gildengers.
