Psychiatry Resident H. Nur Eken, MD, Receives Excellence in Teaching Award from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
Please join us in congratulating H. Nur Eken, MD (PGY2 psychiatry resident) who has been selected as one of six recipients of the Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award/“Little Apple” Award from the Pitt School of Medicine! The Little Apple awards recognize outstanding residents who have demonstrated excellence in student teaching, team leadership, fund of knowledge, compassionate and humanistic patient care, and service as a mentor and role model for medical students.
As a second-year resident, Dr. Eken precepts third-year medical students in their psychiatry clerkship. In addition, she has taught the mood disorders course as part of the School of Medicine’s didactics curriculum.
“I’m honored to have been selected for this award. I have had the privilege to work with very hardworking and motivated medical students this year,” said Dr. Eken. “I hope I have been able to share some of what I’ve learned from my own mentors and faculty, and I’m very grateful for the experience of working with them."
