Understanding Risk Factors for Psychosis in Adolescence

Please join us on May 16, 2025 for our next Meet the PI lecture featuring the research of Leslie Horton, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Dr. Horton earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2010 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Kwapil where her research focused on the study of social dysfunction in young adults with schizotypy. She is a graduate of the Clinical Psychology Internship program at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry with support from a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award. Her research investigates the risk for psychosis in adolescence and young adulthood. She currently serves as the PI or Site PI for several federally and state-sponsored research projects.

The indicated number of clock hours of continuing education is provided through UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital’s Office of Educational Resources and Planning, a PA-approved provider of social work continuing education in accordance with all the applicable educational and professional standards of the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist.
