Therapeutic Potential of Nociceptin Receptor-Related Ligands in Opioid Addiction

Mei-Chuan (Holden) Ko, PhD Professor of Translational Neuroscience, Wake Forest University School of Medicine

Please join us in person or online for a talk by special guest speaker, Mei-Chuan (Holden) Ko, PhD. Dr. Ko's research is focused on pharmacotherapy for pain, itch, and substance use disorders. By using non-human primate models with translational impact, he investigates the functional profiles of novel compounds as compared to clinically used drugs to facilitate development of medications. Some of his ongoing projects include: 1) the therapeutic potential of experimental compounds as safe, non-addictive analgesics; and 2) the functional efficacy of novel compounds for attenuating the abuse-related effects of opioids and cocaine. Dr. Ko is a Professor of Translational Neuroscience at Wake Forest University’s School of Medicine.
