UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital Welcomes the Clinical Psychology Intern Class of 2023-2024
Please join us in welcoming the 2023-2024 Clinical Psychology Intern class!
The American Psychological Association-accredited program is co-led by Tina Goldstein, PhD (Pittsburgh Foundation Endowed Professor in Psychiatry Research and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology), and Michele Levine, PhD (Professor of Psychiatry and Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, and Associate Professor of Psychology).
This yearlong experience adheres to a clinical science model of training and professional development, emphasizing research and clinical training integration, as well as a commitment to empirically informed approaches to clinical work. The program trains interns in cultural humility and multicultural clinical competencies, and is focused on increasing the participation of underrepresented populations in clinical medicine, biomedical research, teaching, and service. Research interests: Racial and global disparities in mental health; enhancing access to evidence-based treatment, specifically among Black and immigrant populations.
Caroline Christian (University of Louisville)
Research interests: Transdiagnostic factors related to eating and anxiety disorders across life stages.
Julia Feldman (University of Pittsburgh)
Research interests: Impact of contextual factors on children’s socioemotional development.
Julianne Griffith (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)
Research interests: Social and emotional mechanisms related to adolescent depression.
Rebecca Griffith (University of Kansas)
Research interests: Risk and protective factors for youth violence perpetration.
