Meredith Spada, MD Awarded Fellowships from the American College of Psychiatrists and the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training
Meredith Spada, MD, a PGY-5 Child Psychiatry Fellow, has been selected to receive two highly competitive fellowship awards. Dr. Spada serves as the Chair of the Academic Administrator Clinician Educator track and Chief Resident for Education at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital.
Dr. Spada was selected as a Laughlin Fellow from an elite pool of applicants by the American College of Psychiatrists. The fellowship is presented to residents who have demonstrated the ability to make a significant contribution to the field of psychiatry. The award will support Dr. Spada’s participation at the College’s annual meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, February 20-24, 2019, and provide her with the opportunity to share her interests and interact with leaders in the field.
Dr. Spada is also the recipient of a George Ginsberg Fellowship from the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training (AADPRT). The fellowship program acknowledges the excellence and accomplishments of outstanding residents who are pursuing careers as clinician-educators and/or academic administrators. Funding from the award will support Dr. Spada’s attendance at the 48th Annual AADPRT Meeting in San Diego, California February 28 – March 2, 2019.
