Pittsburgh Hosts FLUX Congress
Pittsburgh is proud to host the inaugural International Congress for
Integrative Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience (the Flux Congress) at the
Wyndham Grand Hotel downtown On September 19-21, 2013.
The Flux Congress will serve as a forum for developmental cognitive
neuroscientists to share their findings, expand their approaches, and be
informed of translational approaches. This year?s theme aims to inform
neuroimaging approaches with rodent and non-human primate models to provide
insight into the possible neural mechanisms underlying developmental
neuroimaging findings.
The Flux team, led by Conference Chair Dr. Bea Luna, Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, has created a conference program that will appeal to principal investigators, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students actively engaged in neuroscience representing a broad array of disciplines including:
Behavioral Neuroscience | Excitable Membranes and Ion Channels |
Bioinformatics / Neuroinformatics | Motor Systems Neuroscience |
Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience | Neural / Synaptic Structure and Function |
Cognitive Neuroscience | Neuroendocrinology |
Computational Neuroscience & Modeling | Neuroengineering and Robotics |
Developmental Neuroscience | Neuroethology |
Disorders of the Nervous System | Neuropharmacology & Neurochemistry |
Evolutionary & Comparative Neuroscience | Neuroregeneration and Repair |
History, Teaching, Public Awareness, and Societal Impacts in Neuroscience | Neuroscience of Aging |
The conference program includes a welcome reception, poster session, and plenary sessions featuring leading experts from around the globe. David A. Lewis, MD, UPMC Endowed Professor in Translational Neuroscience and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, will present the Keynote Address on Understanding How Molecular Mechanisms Can Inform Systems Level Neuroimaging Studies Of Cognitive Development.
