AACAP Selects Drs. Heather Joseph and Justin Schreiber
for Educational Outreach Program Awards
Congratulations to Drs. Heather Joseph and Justin Schreiber on their selection for the Educational Outreach Program for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residents, supported by the Life Members Fund of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).
The Educational Outreach Program Awards will provide Drs. Joseph and Schreiber with the opportunity to participate at the AACAP Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA, October 20 ? October 25, 2014. As participants in the program, Drs. Joseph and Schreiber will receive a travel stipend to attend the annual meeting, where they will have the opportunity to share their work with colleagues, obtain valuable feedback and advice from leaders in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry, and build collaborative relationships with other child and adolescent psychiatrists.
Heather Joseph, DO, is a fourth year resident in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC (WPIC). She is the Chief Resident in the Psychiatry Research Pathway program. Dr. Joseph has developed her interests in clinical research and neuroimaging under the mentorship of Dr. Brooke Molina at the Youth and Family Research Program. The Molina Laboratory focuses on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other disruptive behavioral disorders, as well as substance use disorders. Dr. Joseph will be presenting on Neuropsychopharmacological Nomenclature as part of the Clinical Perspective program at this year?s AACAP Annual Meeting.
A fourth year resident in the Triple Board program at WPIC, Justin Schreiber, DO, MPH, is interested in health policy issues and child advocacy. His work in those areas includes his service as the Secretary for the Section for Medical Students, Residents and Fellowship Trainees of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition to his clinical activities as a resident at WPIC, Dr. Schreiber is also every active in the Community Oriented Resident Education and the Academic Administrator Clinician Educator programs.
