2016 Research Day
The Annual Department of Psychiatry Research Day highlights the diverse research activities of our faculty, trainees, students and staff. This year?s event, which was held on June 9th at the University Club on the Oakland Campus, was attended by over 400 participants.
A morning session featured 127 posters presented by faculty, residents, postdoctoral fellows, students and staff. Nine lunchtime Roundtable Discussions on a variety of research and career development topics were facilitated by Department of Psychiatry faculty.
The keynote address was presented by Dr. Mary Ganguli, Professor of Psychiatry, Epidemiology, and Neurology, and an internationally recognized expert in geriatric psychiatry and global health.
The afternoon activities also again featured the popular Speed Dat(a)ing session that highlighted key findings by ten Department of Psychiatry faculty investigators.
Dr. David Lewis, Thomas Detre Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry, presented awards honoring faculty members for their outstanding teaching and mentorship, and recognizing faculty and staff for their service to the research community. Dr. Lewis also presented Best Poster prizes to 11 poster presenters in recognition for their outstanding work and expert dissemination of their findings.
