Yanhua Huang, PhD Joins Department Faculty

Please join us in welcoming Yanhua Huang, PhD to the Department of Psychiatry faculty.  Dr. Huang is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and will be collaborating with colleagues in the Translational Neuroscience Program and other research faculty.  Prior to moving to Pittsburgh, Dr. Huang held postdoctoral fellowship and research positions at Harvard and Washington State University. Her research efforts are primarily directed toward understanding the effects of sleep deprivation on neural activity in the nucleus accumbens, a key element at the limbic-motor interface that gates emotional/motivational responses during reward processing. The cellular and molecular mechanisms of sleep-regulation of reward are studied in the context of both natural reward seeking and drug addiction.  Dr. Huang?s laboratory is located in the state-of-the-art Bridgeside Point II facility.
