Outstanding Resident Award

NIMH Selects Brandon McKinney, MD, PhD for 2012 Outstanding Resident Award

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has selected Brandon McKinney, MD, PhD (PGY2) as a 2012 NIMH Outstanding Resident Award winner.  Dr. McKinney earned his medical degree and a doctorate in Neuroscience at the University of Michigan before beginning his residency training at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.  In addition to his clinical training, Dr. McKinney is pursuing his research interests in the laboratory of Dr. Etienne Sibille in the Department of Psychiatry?s Translational Neuroscience Program. 

 The formal NIMH Outstanding Resident Award Program will take place on the National Institutes of Health campus in Bethesda, Maryland on September 27-28, 2012, where Dr. McKinney will have the opportunity to meet with NIMH branch chiefs, faculty members and clinical fellows, and to tour the NIMH facilities in the Clinical Center.    The Outstanding Resident Award program honors the achievements of the country?s best and brightest psychiatry residents and encourages them to continue to excel in their academic/research pursuits and careers.  Congratulations Dr. McKinney!
