The BBC Radio 4 Today program recently interviewed Mary Phillips, MD about her research utilizing fMRI technology to identify adolescents at risk for developing psychiatric disorders such as anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. Dr. Phillips is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh and the Director of the Mood and Brain Laboratory and the Clinical and Translational Affective Neuroscience Program. Her research focuses on the identification of neural correlates that underlie the symptoms of specific abnormalities in emotion processing in individuals with mood disorders.
