Elected to Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research
Rebecca Clark Thurston, PhD has been elected to the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research. The Academy is the honorary senior scientist society for those whose research exists at the interface of behavior and medicine. Election to this society is highly selective and is reserved for those with nationally and internationally behavioral medicine research excellence.
Dr. Thurston is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Epidemiology, and nationally recognized as an expert in the field of women?s health, particularly in the areas of menopause and the risk for cardiovascular disease in women. Her current projects include an R01 grant funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) for which she is the principal investigator that is the first large-scale study to comprehensively investigate the physiology underlying the complex relationship between hot flashes and cardiovascular disease risk
