LalithKumar Solai, MD, Receives Distinguished Academician Award from the Indo-American Psychiatric Association
Congratulations to LalithKumar K. Solai, MD, who has received the 2020 Distinguished Academician Award from the Indo-American Psychiatric Association (IAPA). The award is given annually to an IAPA life member who has made noteworthy academic contributions to the mental health field through research, teaching, and administrative activities.
“I am honored and humbled to receive this award. It has been my pleasure to be given the opportunity to work in an academic institution such as ours,” he said.
Dr. Solai is an expert in geriatric psychiatry and serves as medical director of UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital (WPH) Geriatric Psychiatry Services as well as became chief of geriatric psychiatry. He is also medical director of the WPH Center for Interventional Psychiatry, where he oversees care for patients with severe, difficult-to-treat depression and other debilitating psychiatric disorders.
