We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jason Rosenstock, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, has been selected to serve as Interim Associate Dean for Medical Education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Rosenstock is currently Director, Medical Student Education for the Department of Psychiatry and is chair of the Curriculum Committee at the School of Medicine. In his role as Interim Associate Dean, Dr. Rosenstock will ensure high-quality teaching in courses and clerkships for each year of medical school. This includes overseeing instructional support, academic development, facilities management, evaluation/feedback, student assessment, educational technology, faculty development and program evaluation.
“Dr. Rosenstock has a rich store of knowledge about our overall curriculum. He is thoughtful, collaborative in his approach to challenges that arise in meeting the educational needs of our students, and creative in proposing new opportunities. He is well-respected by students, staff, and faculty. I am grateful that he has agreed to assume this role,” wrote Dr. Ann Thompson, Vice Dean, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Rosenstock commented: “I’m honored to have been chosen for this role. I’ve spent most of my career working in medical student education, and this position gives me an opportunity to build on the successes of our school. It will be challenging, and a learning process for me, but also fun and rewarding. We’re building a new wing on Scaife Hall with upgraded facilities for the school, making this a particularly exciting time. I look forward to working with the wonderful staff at the Office of Medical Education, as well as with the many faculty, students and departments at the university and medical center.”
Congratulations, Dr. Rosenstock!
