The Department will feature the research of Dr. Carmen Andreescu at the next Meet the PI lecture on April 9th. Dr. Andreescu is an international expert on the clinical treatment of late-life anxiety. Her research focuses on the affective and cognitive neuroscience of late-life anxiety and depression and she has pioneered a unique neurocognitive and translational approach to her work.

The Brain, Behavior and Cancer Seminar Series continues on April 15th featuring the work of Dr. Natacha De Genna.

Our Researchers on the Rise lecture series highlights the work of promising scientists in the early stages of their academic careers. The Department of Psychiatry is pleased to feature the work of two talented young investigators, Brian Thoma, PhD and Mary Woody, PhD on April 16th. Join us to learn more about their important research focusing on adolescents.

We are honored to feature the work of Ned Kalin, MD when we welcome him to Pittsburgh for the April 23rd Distinguished Scientist Lecture series. Dr. Kalin is the Director of the HealthEmotions Research Institute and the Lane Neuroimaging Laboratory, a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin, and an affiliate scientist at the Wisconsin Regional Primate Center and the Harlow Primate Laboratory.

Join us on May 14, 2021 for the Annual STAR-Center Conference. The theme of this year's conference is "Preventing Suicide in Children and Youth:  Building Resilience in the Face of Adversity." 

Our next Clinical Grand Rounds will address how clinicians from Pitt Psychiatry and the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System are working together to address the mental health needs of our men and women in uniform.
