Early Predictive Cognitive Measures of Dementia: From Traditional Neuropsychology to Intraindividual, Digital and Momentary Assessment

Luciana Fonseca, PhD is an Associate in Research in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health in the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University. She is a neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist with a background in aging and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in minority populations. Her work is currently focused on two projects, which she serves as the principal investigator: (1) intraindividual cognitive variability in aging adults with Down syndrome: associations with AD plasma biomarkers, neuropathology and clinical dementia, a K99/R00 funded by the National Institute on Aging; and (2) intraindividual cognitive variability in middle aged and older adults with type 1 diabetes and its relation to plasma biomarkers of AD, funded by the Alzheimer’s Association.
