Congratulations to Eric Golden, MD (Assistant Professor of Psychiatry), Justin Shuster, MD (Assistant Professor of Psychiatry), and Ellen Whyte, MD (Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation), who have been selected to participate in the UPMC Physician Leadership Essentials program. Leadership Essentials is part of a multi-year comprehensive approach to physician leadership development designed to equip physician leaders with the skills necessary to successfully identify and leverage personal and team strengths, build community among physician leaders across UPMC, and monitor progress throughout their leadership journey.
Dr. Golden is medical director of PsychCare Plus—which manages referrals within the UPMC Behavioral Health Network—and an attending psychiatrist in the Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES), UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital’s emergency department.
Dr. Shuster is medical director of the general adult inpatient unit at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital (WPH).
Dr. Whyte is the clinical chief of geriatric psychiatry; medical director of WPH Geriatric Psychiatry Ambulatory and LTC Services; and medical director of WPH’s Integrated Behavioral Health in Primary Care Program.
“I am thrilled by the selection of Dr. Golden, Dr. Shuster, and Dr. Whyte into the Physician Leadership Program,” said Kenneth Nash, MD, MMM (Professor and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs, Department of Psychiatry). “Through Dr. Golden’s leadership of PsychCare Plus, Dr. Shuster’s leadership of the general adult inpatient unit at Western Psychiatric Hospital, and Dr. Whyte’s leadership of geriatric psychiatry, we have three incredible physician leaders focusing on critical programs that meet the needs of a growing patient population.”
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Golden, Dr. Shuster, and Dr. Whyte!
