Dr. Herisko began her career at WPH as a student nursing assistant in geriatric services. In 2012, she earned her doctorate of nursing practice from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and today provides executive nursing and hospital operational management, leadership and direction. Dr. Herisko is dedicated to fostering an efficient, safe and patient-friendly atmosphere at WPH.

“I am honored to be named chair-elect of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders. I think that it is important for more behavioral health nurses to become involved in SWPONL so that together, we can begin to tackle the stigma that can prevent many people from accessing the mental health care they need,” said Dr. Herisko. “As a psychiatric nurse leader, I hope to be a role model through an expanded role within SWPONL, and I am eager to share my behavioral health knowledge, skills and experience with my peers. Together, we can strive to improve the behavioral health patient experience in all settings.”
