Distinguished Scientist Lecture
The Department of Psychiatry will welcome Dr. Diego Pizzagalli to Pittsburgh on February 17, 2017 as the featured speaker for its Distinguished Scientist Lecture Series.
Dr. Pizzagalli is Professor of Psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School. He is the founding director of the Center for Depression, Anxiety and Stress Research, as well as the Director of Imaging Center at McLean Hospital. Dr. Pizzagalli's research aims to increase our understanding of the psychological, environmental, and neurobiological factors associated with mood disorders, particularly major depression. His work integrates behavioral, electrophysiological, neuroimaging, and, molecular genetics approaches to investigate three putative endophenotypes of depression: anhedonia (loss of pleasure), increased stress sensitivity, and negative processing biases.
The Distinguished Scientist Lecture will take place on February 24, 2017 in Room S120 of the Starzl Biomedical Science Tower on the Oakland campus from 12:00pm-1:30pm. Continuing education credits are available. Visit the Events page of our web site for more details regarding Dr. Pizzagalli's lecture.
