Brooke Molina, PhD, Named President-Elect of the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders
We are pleased to announce that Brooke Molina, PhD (Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology and Pediatrics), has been named president-elect of the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders (APSARD).
APSARD is dedicated to enhancing outcomes for individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and their families by fostering lifespan research on ADHD and sharing evidence-based practices and education. “APSARD provides unparalleled opportunities for practitioners and scientists to connect in the service of providing evidence-informed care to individuals with ADHD. I am delighted for the opportunity to support this mission as president,” said Dr. Molina.
Dr. Molina is an internationally recognized expert in the etiology, course, and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse and ADHD. She has substantially improved our understanding of ADHD as a lifelong condition, and has made critical contributions to the research on ADHD-related risk for harmful substance use. She has additionally worked to train primary care providers in stimulant misuse prevention. Dr. Molina has been a member of the APSARD board of directors since 2018, and of the annual conference planning committee since 2021 (chair since 2022), and she currently serves as chair of a subcommittee working on the adult ADHD treatment guidelines.
