Helmet Karim, PhD, Honored by the Organization for Human Brain Mapping

Congratulations to Helmet Karim, PhD (Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Bioengineering), who has received the Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) 2024 Replication Award, which recognizes a replication study relevant to the field of neuroimaging, evaluated based on the quality of the replication attempt and importance of the finding. Dr. Karim was presented with the Award at the OHBM Annual Meeting in Seoul, Korea.

Dr. Karim’s research focuses on the predictive role of the acute neural changes associated with treatment response in major depressive disorder. The OHBM Replication Award recognizes the work of Dr. Karim and his collaborators in demonstrating that brain age is associated with amyloid and cognitive function in Alzheimer’s disease (Neurobiology of Aging, 2020), which he replicated in an independent sample of Korean older adults with and without Alzheimer’s disease (Molecular Psychiatry, 2022).

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Karim!
