Dr. Reynolds Elected to AAP

Congratulations to Dr. Charles Reynolds, III on his election to the Association of American Physicians (AAP). Dr. Reynolds (left), seen here with Dr. Arthur Levine, senior vice chancellor for the health sciences and John and Gertrude Petersen Dean of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, was recognized in a special ceremony at the Association’s annual meeting in Chicago, IL on April 22, 2017.

Dr. Reynolds is a Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology, Behavioral and Community Health Sciences, and Clinical and Translational Science, and the UPMC Endowed Professor of Geriatric Psychiatry. He has established an international reputation for his outstanding contributions to scientific research, education and training, and public policy issues focusing on mental health.

The AAP was founded in 1885 for the advancement of scientific and practical medicine. Members are competitively selected by the Council of the Association and are among the leading senior physician scientists in the United States, Canada and other countries. The goals of its members include the pursuit of medical knowledge, and the advancement through experimentation and discovery of basic and clinical science and their application to clinical medicine.
