Pitt Psychiatry Honored for Innovations in Medical Education at 2019 Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry Annual Meeting

Congratulations to Jason Rosenstock, MD (Director, Medical Student Education, Department of Psychiatry), Pierre Azzam, MD (Associate Program Director, Office of Residency Training), and Jody Glance, MD (Associate Director, Medical Student Education, Department of Psychiatry), who were selected to receive the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry (ADMSEP) Innovations Award for “Final Preparations for Residency: A Psychiatry Bootcamp for Senior Medical Students.” The project focused on the use of a bootcamp to help senior medical students transition to psychiatry residency after graduation. 

The ADSEMP is dedicated to promoting excellence in behavioral sciences and psychiatric education for medical students. Faculty and residents from the Department of Psychiatry and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital attended the 45th annual meeting of this national organization and presented posters on topics including wellness resources in medical schools and how best to teach psychiatric pharmacotherapy.
