U.S. News Best Hospitals
For Eight Successive Years, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC
is ranked in the Top 10 Best Hospitals for Psychiatric Care
For the eighth consecutive year, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC (WPIC) has ranked in the top 10 hospitals in the nation for psychiatric care on the annual U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll of America’s “Best Hospitals.”
This recognition is a direct tribute to the talent, dedication, and hard work of the faculty and staff. WPIC and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh are truly unique among psychiatric honor roll hospitals in the depth and breadth of clinical services provided, the substantial research funding, and the richness of the educational experiences offered. The integrative care models and novel treatment tracks developed consistently receive national and international acclaim. Nearly half of all U.S. medical school graduates seeking a psychiatry residency apply to the WPIC residency program. Furthermore, the Department consistently ranks as one of the leading Departments of Psychiatry in research funding awarded by the National Institutes of Health.
