New Book Provides Guide for LGBT Preventative and Specialty Medicine
Kristen Eckstrand, MD, PhD, a PGY1 resident at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC, is co-editor of a new book that addresses the unmet need for a clinically focused guide to preventive and specialty medicine for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) population.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex Healthcare: A Clinical Guide to Preventative, Primary, and Specialist Care deals with the practical health needs of LGBT patients in both primary care and specialty settings, including mental health. It also serves as a guide for LGBT preventive and specialty medicine that can be utilized within undergraduate medical education, residency training, and medical practice.
