Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine Honors Work of Dr. Andrea DiMartini with 2011 Research Award
Andrea F. DiMartini, MD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Surgery, was presented with the 2011 Research Award by the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine at the Academy's annual meeting in Phoenix, AZ on November 18, 2011. Dr. DiMartini received the award in recognition for her outstanding contributions to the field of transplant psychiatry.
Dr. DiMartini has worked for nearly 20 years as a clinician and researcher with the transplant teams at the Starzl Transplant Institute. She serves as the Transplantation Psychiatry representative to The Council of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and is an active member of the Academy. She has extensively published and presented her work focusing on the role of psychiatry in organ transplantation.
