Thomas Karikari, PhD, and Rebecca Thurston, PhD, Recognized by Pitt Health Sciences for High-Impact Research

Congratulations to Thomas Karikari, PhD (Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Clinical and Translational Science), and Rebecca Thurston, PhD (Pittsburgh Foundation Chair in Women's Health and Dementia and Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry, Clinical and Translational Science, Epidemiology and Psychology), whose high-impact research has been recognized by the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences.

Dr. Karikari and Dr. Thurston are among 12 Health Sciences researchers invited to present their research in a lightning talk presentation. Selected papers are recognized for providing deep biological or practice-changing insight, and for having sparked interest from media and the public.

Dr. Karikari will present “Plasma p-tau212 Antemortem Diagnostic Performance and Prediction of Autopsy Verification of Alzheimer’s Disease Neuropathology,” published in Nature Communications.

Dr. Thurston’s presentation will focus on her research published in Circulation, “Trajectories of Sleep Over Midlife and Incident Cardiovascular Disease Events in the Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation.”
