Angela Ianni, MD, DPhil, Recognized by American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry

Congratulations to Angela Ianni, MD, DPhil (postdoctoral scholar), who has been selected as a recipient of the Member in Training Award by the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP). The award recognizes a promising member-in-training who has participated in an ongoing research program and continues to be involved in research training outside the scope of clinical training.
Dr. Ianni joined Pitt Psychiatry in 2020 as a resident in the Psychiatry Research Pathway, and is currently conducting postdoctoral research in the Decision Neuroscience and Psychopathology Lab, directed by Alex Dombrovski, MD (Pittsburgh Foundation Endowed Professor in Brain and Mind Research and Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology). Dr Ianni’s research focuses on computational approaches to investigating the link between neuromodulator dopamine and reward-guided behavior in order to better understand the neural processes underlying suicidal behavior in late-life depression. She has published her research in journals including Nature Communications, Neuron, and JAMA Psychiatry.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Ianni!
