Integrated Behavioral Health Services in the Pediatric Medical Home Receives Patient Care and Innovation Awards from Hospital & Healthsystem Association (HAP)

Abigail B. Schlesinger, MDA collaborative partnership between Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC, Children?s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and Children?s Community Pediatrics, was presented with two awards for their program Integrating Behavioral Health Services into the Pediatric Medical Home by the Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) at their recent annual Achievement Awards ceremony. Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC)

Abigail B. Schlesinger, MD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Medical Director of Behavioral Health, and her colleagues worked closely with leaders at Children?s Hospital and Children?s Community Pediatrics to develop and implement this unique program.

The program?s submission focusing on "Early Access to Integrated Behavioral Health Services in the Pediatric Medical Home" was selected for the Patient Care Award and Innovator Award in recognition of their innovation and excellence from a total of 81 entries from health systems across Pennsylvania.
