National Institute on Aging Awards $9.8 Million Grant
to Study Insomnia in Aging
The National Institute on Aging (NIA) has awarded a $9.8 million grant to study insomnia in older adults. The Age Wise program, led by Timothy H. Monk, DSc, PhD, Professor of Psychiatry and Clinical and Translational Science, is a multidisciplinary research initiative that will focus on biological clock problems, stress and arousal issues, the functional anatomy of the patient’s brain, and specific issues in the patient’s genetic make-up.
