Jason Rosenstock, MD Promoted to Associate Professor of Psychiatry

Please join us in congratulating Jason Rosenstock, MD on his promotion to the rank of Associate Professor of Psychiatry. After completing undergraduate and medical school studies at Brown University, Dr. Rosenstock came to Pittsburgh for a residency in general psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC).  Since joining the faculty in 1996, his work has focused on schizophrenia.  His contributions in this area include:  providing direct clinical care for patients with this illness; teaching students, trainees, and professionals about the illness and its management; and helping develop and administer services on behalf of patients and families affected by this illness.  Dr. Rosenstock served as the Chief of WPIC?s Comprehensive Care Services prior to his appointment as the Director of the Office of Medical Student Education in 2005.  Working with learners from many levels, Dr. Rosenstock has endeavored to inspire medical students, residents/fellows, and physicians to explore careers in academic psychiatry and neuroscience, to enhance teaching skills, and to achieve career advancement.  He is the recipient of numerous awards in recognition of his dedication to education and training including the Golden Apple Teaching Award for excellence in psychiatry teaching (2008), the Sheldon Adler Award for innovation in medical education (2008) and the Kenneth E. Shuit Award for education-related contributions to the medical education curriculum.
