AOA Faculty Award

James D. Tew, Jr., MD Receives Alpha Omega Alpha Faculty Award
for Outstanding Contributions to Medical Education



The Pennsylvania Gamma Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine has selected James Tew, Jr., MD as the recipient for the 2014 Alpha Omega Alpha Faculty Award. The award is given in recognition of a faculty member that consistently goes above and beyond in their role as a medical educator, and in setting an example in quality patient care.  Dr. Tew was recognized for his inspirational work in these domains.  As part of the award, Dr. Tew was conferred membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society. 

Dr. Tew is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Department of Psychiatry?s Clinician Educator Faculty Development Program. In addition to this honor, Dr. Tew has been the recipient of numerous other awards in recognition of his commitment to medical education and mentorship, including the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Excellence in Education Award in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
