New Trends and Innovations in Treatment (CBT) Development and Dissemination for Insomnia
Charles M. Morin, Ph.D.
Professor and Canada Research Chair
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is recognized as the treatment of choice for persistent insomnia. There are, however, important barriers to using this therapeutic approach and it remains underutilized in clinical practice. Pressure to design more cost-effective and more user-friendly therapies has led to the development of a variety of self-help interventions and delivery models for treating insomnia. This presentation will summarize these new trends and innovations in treatment development and dissemination for insomnia and discuss their benefits and limitations in the context of today’s health-care environment.
