Career Development

Residents in the AACE Track are encouraged to develop areas of interest and expertise, both professionally and personally. They take part in twice monthly interactive sessions, led by Departmental and Institutional faculty, with a focus on professional and career development. These sessions cover such topics as:

  • Curriculum vitae (CV) development
  • Scholarly writing
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Academic networking
  • Evidence-based teaching
  • Principles for becoming a better mentor and mentee
  • Leadership
  • Hospital finance

Over 90% of AACE Track graduates pursue careers in academic psychiatry. Our graduates are among the most highly sought-after clinician educators and leaders in the country. We are proud to have many of them join our faculty or subspecialty fellowships and contribute to the success of our clinical and academic programs.
